  • ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS?

Yes. All jumpers must be at least 10 years of age and weigh a minimum of 45kg. If you are under 16 years old, you will also require parental consent. The maximum weight for a bungy jump is 180kgs, which applies to solo and tandem jumps.

Prior to registration, the staff need to know if you have any medical conditions that may make your bungy less safe or enjoyable. These include previous dislocations, asthma, pregnancy, back or head injury, and epilepsy. It is most likely you will still be able to bungy jump, depending on the injury or condition, but staff must be informed. If you are concerned, please consult a medical professional.

For centuries the people of Vanuatu, in the Pacific, have been leaping from tall towers with vine ropes attached to their ankles. From this ancient ritual, bungy jumping with latex rubber began at the Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club in the 1970’s. Commercial bungy jumping followed in the 1980’s, developed by a group of “Kiwi’s” and so the bungy phenomenon was born. For more info go to our Historypage.
